Waterson Award -
Building a
Bridge to the Future
Incarnation School was
founded in 1910 to serve the rapidly growing
Irish, Italian, and German immigrant
populations of Washington Heights. Today,
the demographics of the neighborhood have
changed to a primarily Hispanic population,
but Incarnation’s mission remains the same:
to offer the children of Washington Heights
the educational opportunities that they need
to succeed. Last year, our graduates
received scholarships totaling more than
$30,000.
Incarnation’s faculty is dedicated to the
individual needs and growth of each
student. Many of our teachers have been
educating Incarnation’s students for over 20
years. The school benefits tremendously
from the hard work of our Development Board,
as well as the dedication of the many alumni
and friends who continue to support
Incarnation year after year.
Incarnation is committed to keeping tuition
affordable for the working families of
Washington Heights. Currently, tuition and
fees cover approximately two-thirds of the
costs of educating our students. The
remainder of our educational programs are
funded by grants, scholarship funds, the
annual benefit and the generosity of our
friends and alumni. Thank you for your
support as we build a bridge to the future
for so many deserving children.
